Coldplay - "Paradise" Lyrics
Paradise lyrics

When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach
So she ran away in her sleep
Dreamed of para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Every time she closed her eyes
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh

When she was just a girl
She expected the world
But it flew away from her reach
And the bullets catch in her teeth

Life goes on
It gets so heavy
The wheel breaks the butterfly
Every tear, a waterfall
In the night, the stormy night
She closed her eyes
In the night, the stormy night
Away she'd fly.

And dreamed of para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh

She dreamed of para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

La la la La
La la la

So lying underneath those stormy skies.
She said oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.
I know the sun must set to rise.

This could be para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
This could be para- para- paradise
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

This could be para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Could be para- para- paradise
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

This could be para- para- paradise
Para- para- paradise
Could be para- para- paradise
Whoa-oh-oh oh-oooh oh-oh-oh.

Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo
Oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo, oo-oo-oo

Christmas Music New Releases 2011

Top Hits Music : Christmas Music New Releases 2011

Here are some of the Christmas Music New Releases 2011 :

Christmas
2011 holiday release from the Grammy-winning vocalist. Christmas, produced by David Foster, Bob Rock and Humberto Gatica, was recorded primarily at Capitol Recording Studios in Hollywood and The Warehouse Studios in Vancouver. The album includes guest performances by Shania Twain on "White Christmas" and The Puppini Sisters on "Jingle Bells." Bubl‚ also put his unique take on such classics as "Silent Night," "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" and "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town." In addition, a Bubl‚ original "Cold December Night" is included on Christmas.

A Very She & Him Christmas
2011 holiday release. A Very She & Him Christmas is a wonderful collection of holiday tunes from two of music's most impressive artists Zooey Deschanel (She) & M. Ward (Him). Inspired by seminal holiday albums by the likes of The Carpenters, Vince Guaraldi, The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley and more, She & Him have set out to create an intimate holiday recording of Christmas classics that helps bring new emotions out of old songs.

My Kind of Christmas (2011 Version)
A devoted family man (despite his playboy image), Dino always adored Christmas. He was no doubt feeling nostalgic as he sang these, and you will, too, as you hear the King of Cool deliver Silver Bells; Silent Night; Jingle Bells; White Christmas; Baby It's Cold Outside; Blue Christmas , and more! This updated 2011 edition also includes a "Swingin' Yuletide Mix" of Winter Wonderland and a newly created duet in which Dean croons along with the sultry Scarlett Johansson on I'll Be Home for Christmas !

WOW Christmas
This 2-disc, 32-song collection marks the first WOW holiday offering in six years, since the release of WOW Christmas (Green), and features the biggest names in Christian music singing holiday classics as well as original fare. With over 26 million units sold including the most recent installment, WOW Hits 2011 each WOW release continues to be a must-have for Christian music fans.Featuring stand-out Christmas selections from a diverse line-up of fan favorites, WOW Christmas (2011) delivers songs including Casting Crowns Joy to the World, Francesca Battistelli s You re Here, Chris Tomlin s Emmanuel (Hallowed Manger Ground), Third Day s Born In Bethlehem, Audrey Assad s Winter Snow (featuring Chris Tomlin), Jeremy Camp s O Come All Ye Faithful, and TobyMac s Christmas This Year (featuring Leigh Nash), plus many more. The new holiday collection also features three new songs: David Crowder*Band s The First Noel, Matt Maher s Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and Tenth Avenue North s Deck the Halls.

The Heart Of Christmas
Matthew West returns with his first-ever Christmas album, The Heart of Christmas. Even though this is Matthew's first Christmas album, several of these songs have already received significant airplay at Christian radio, including "One Last Christmas," "Give This Christmas Away," and "Christmas Makes Me Cry." Includes the new single "Heart of Christmas" and several other new songs, and traditional Christmas favorites such as "Silent Night," "Away In A Manger" and "Jingle Bells." This fall, Matthew's music will be featured prominently in an upcoming GMC film, which was inspired by the song "One Last Christmas" and the true story behind it.

Christmas Symphony
2011 holiday album from Chip Davis and Co. containing all new renditions of yuletide favorites performed with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Symphony features 16 holiday tracks expanded into full symphonic arrangements and performed by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to demand by Mannheim Steamroller's always-growing fan base, Christmas Symphony will resonate with classic music listeners.

Ultimate Christmas Collection
In a career that spans 20 years and a dozen albums, saxophonist Dave Koz has established himself as one of the most prominent figures in contemporary jazz.2011 holiday release containing 17 yuletide classics interpreted by the contemporary Pop/Jazz saxophonist. Includes "Winter Wonderland," "Deck The Halls," "White Christmas" featuring Kelly Sweet and "Please Come Home For Christmas" featuring Kimberly Locke.

Seasons Greetings: A Jersey Boys Christmas
Many of the melodies and choral harmonies that catapulted the quartet from the streets of Newark into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are woven into classic holiday songs on Season's Greetings: A Jersey Boys Christmas. Listen for hints of "Come On Marianne" and "Oh What A Night" in the album opener "Joy To The World/O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" plus traces of "Bye Bye Baby" in "Winter Wonderland." For Jersey Boys' first Christmas on Broadway in 2006, the cast recorded "O Holy Night" for a Christmas album to benefit Broadway charities. This album features a new version of the song with a fresh arrangement that includes lines from the spiritual, "Rise Up, Shepherd." Other highlights from A Jersey Boys Christmas include a doo-wop version of "White Christmas" inspired by The Drifters and "Santa Medley," which infuses signature Jersey Boys harmonies into a trio of holiday favorites. Also featured is a unique version of "Angels From The Realms Of Glory" filtered through '80s synth-rock with a touch of Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony" thrown in for good measure.

The Christmas We Hoped For
"The Christmas We Hoped For" is an instant holiday classic - an eclectic collection of traditional hymns, contemporary favorites like "White Christmas," and modern Christmas songs like The Weepies' "All That I Want." The album began as a side project intended to get Vanessa back into the studio after a nearly 3-year hiatus, and it turned into an all-consuming affair that had Vanessa in the studio throughout the hottest Texas summer in 30 years. As Peters told the story, 'There's nothing quite like singing White Christmas while the temperature outside is 110 degrees.' Produced by Rip Rowan and featuring Grammy-winning guitarist / producer Joe Reyes, the album offers a fresh take on Christmas classics that remains true to the spirit of the original songs.

Oh For Joy
This October, David Crowder*Band delivers their first Christmas record Oh For Joy. Featuring the Christmas favorites "Joy To the World," "The First Noel," "Oh Holy Night," "Silent Night" and more, the album features classic Christmas songs interpreted as only the David Crowder*Band can. Highlighting the band's unmistakable creativity and originality, Oh For Joy finds the band re-inventing familiar Christmas songs into something new and unexpected.

Brantley Gilbert - "Country Must Be Country Wide" Lyrics
Country Must Be Country Wide Lyrics

I grew up south of the Mason Dixon
Workin spitting huntin and fishin
Stone cold country by the grace of God

I was gasin up the other day
And an ol boy pulled up with a license plate
From Ohio I thought oh good lord he's lost
From his wranglers to his boots
He reminded me of Chris LeDoux
And that Copenhagen smile
[chorus]

Country must be countrywide
In every state
There's a station
Playing Cash,Hank,Willie and Waylon
In foreign cars and four wheel drives
There's cowboys and hillbillies
From farm towns to big cities

There ain't no doubt in my mind
Country must be countrywide

It ain't where
It's how you live
We weren't raised to take
We were raised to give
The shirt off our back
To anyone in need

We bow our heads before we eat
Before we start our day
Before we fall asleep
Cause in God we trust and we believe
And we see what's wrong
And we know what's right

And ol Hank he said it all
When he said country folks can survive
There ain't no doubt in my mind
Country must be countrywide
[chorus]

David Guetta Featuring Usher - "Without You" Lyrics
Without You Lyrics

I can’t win, I can’t reign
I will never win this game without you
Without you
I am lost, I am vain
I will never be the same without you
Without you
I won’t run, I won’t fly
I will never make it by without you
Without you
I can’t rest, I can’t fight
All I need is you and I, without you
Without… you
Oh, oh, oh
You (3x)
Without
You (3x)
Without you
Can’t erase, so I’ll take blame
But I can’t accept that we’re estranged
Without you, without you
I can’t quit now

This can’t be right
I can’t take one more sleepless night without you, without you
I won’t soar, I won’t climb
If you’re not here, I’m paralyzed without you
Without you
I can’t look, I’m so blind
I lost my heart, I lost my mind without you
Without… you
Oh, oh, oh
You (3x)
Without
You (3x)
Without you
I am lost, I am vain
I will never be the same without you
Without you
Without You

Sexy And I Know It Lyrics

When I walk on by, girls be looking like damn he fly
I pimp to the beat, walking down the street in my new lafreak, yeah
This is how I roll, animal print, pants outta control,
It's Redfoo with the big ass fro
And like Bruce Lee I got the claw, yo

Girl look at that body [x3]
I work out
Girl look at that body [x3]
I work out

When I walk in the spot, this is what I see
Everybody stops and they staring at me
I got a passion in my pants and I ain't afraid to show it

I'm sexy and I know it [x2]

When I'm at the mall, security just can't fight them off
When I'm at the beach, I'm in a Speedo trying to tan my cheeks
This is how I roll, come on ladies it's time to go
We headed to the bar, baby don't be nervous
No shoes, no shirt, and I still get service

Girl look at that body [x3]
I work out
Girl look at that body [x3]
I work out

When I walk in the spot, this is what I see
Everybody stops and they staring at me
I got passion in my pants and I ain't afraid to show it

I'm sexy and I know it [x2]

I'm sexy and I know it...

Check it out [x2]
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle yeah [x4]
Do the wiggle man [x2]
Yeah I'm sexy and I know it

Girl look at that body [x3]
I work out
Girl look at that body [x3]

Warren Vache: Ballads and Other Cautionary Tales (2011)

Ballad playing may be the most difficult jazz style to master and the one that requires the most maturity and life experience. Even the most talented younger players are often stymied when confronted with the challenges of preserving a melody while stamping it with their own imprimatur. Warren Vach is one of jazz’s finest balladeers...... Although he has always been one of the most consistently inspired jazz performers, in recent years his playing seems to reflect an even deeper emotional commitment which, combined with his omnipresent technique, has led him to new artistic heights as is evident on this superb set. From the album notes by Ed Berger, Associate Director, Rutgers Institute of Jazz Studies

Steve Dobrogosz & Anna Christoffersson: Rivertime (2008)

"Magical, phenomenal" - Kristianstadsbladet
"Sweden's hottest jazzduo" - Dagbladet, Sundsvall
"The duo success that has the critics on their knees" - Gefle Dagblad
"Sweden's most beautiful voice" - Göteborgs Tidning
“Incomparably beautiful and moving... a dynamic dreamteam... a sublime meteor shower of tones and words in complete symbiosis... the amazingly sensitive interaction between the two of them has deepened... perfectly realized songs that go straight to the heart. One of the best albums ever produced on Swedish soil" - Svenska Dagbladet
"I've seldom experienced such a devoted audience that listened so intensely - the contact was total. ..the piano and voice push each other to great things. It is impossible to describe the feeling these two musicians create together" - Folkbladet
"Every now and then one encounters a love song that makes one realize just how seldom songs actually express what love really is. On their second album, Rivertime, there are several such songs. Dobrogosz's piano is both trap door and guide rail in dialogue with Christoffersson's naked, flaming voice. Heartbreakingly romantic music… the best I've heard in a very, very long time" - Dagens Nyheter
"The combination is matchless and the collaboration seamless" - Dalarnas Tidningar
"Already after the first number it's clear that their dynamic communication is uniquely magical. The songs flow together in a mysterious, bottomless ocean, Anna's voice shifting from hot sensuality to powerful gospel crescendos, Steve's playing calling forth water drops and hurricanes" - Gefle Dagblad
"Musical magic. There were two encores, but after a concert like this there could have been many more" - Uppsala Nya Tidning
"I was prepared for the quality of his piano work but I wasn’t quite prepared for the voice of Anna. What an instrument. Smokey, earthy, rich and expressive and used with such intuitive ease that it makes listening a joy. The key quality of the album is how they combine and truly work as one voice. Without being soul music the album is very soulful, highlighted by the all too rare sense of oneness between piano and vocal" - Audioenz, New Zealand
"Songs for seventh heaven, with a sensual energy only found on earth" - Bayerischer Rundfunk, Germany

1. Rivertime

Sound wise, the CD covers many genres from Bop and Latin to Fusion and Funk with an allstar musician lineup: Tom Kennedy, acoustic, fretless and electric bass; Mike Stern, guitar; Dave Weckl, drums; Charles Blenzig, keyboards; Jay Oliver, keyboards; Sarina Suno, violin; Bob Albanese, keyboards & Nathan Childers, sax. Vince Madison: Spice of Life (2006)

This is an album of contemporary jazz, Vince Madison style. It's in response to many requests for "something upbeat". As an artist, Vince felt a need to develop in a new direction as well. What you hear here is the marriage of those two desires.
Spice of Life marks a new direction for Vince. His melodic flowing piano style is still here, but it's augmented by a contemporary rhythm section and features sax and trumpet on select tracks. Listen for it on a smooth jazz station near you!
Vince began his career as a guitarist. Then as a sophomore in college, he decided to master the piano, because it would be a better vehicle for his true passion, composing. Graduating with honors from Denver University with a music composition degree, Vince traveled to New York, where he studied further under Juliard instructor Bertha Melnik, and then embraced the NYC studio scene, doing session work for labels such as Tommy Boy, Elektra and Polygram. In contrast to Dreamland , his work at that point was for rap and R&B artists, playing keyboard parts and programming synthesizers for early artists like Grand Master Flash, whose keyboard tracks were heavily sampled by other artists.
Vince has added his talent to numerous recordings for other artists and written dozens of pop songs. But with Dreamland , he decided to stop worrying about what was hip or the latest rage, and just write from the heart. And in response, his CDs have already far surpassed any of his previous efforts in terms of sales. With his new record company, “Firefly Records” Vince decided to skip the traditional record company waiting game and take his music directly to the people. In December 1998, when Dreamland was first released, he started playing the music live in upscale shopping malls. The response was astounding. People would stop dead in their tracks, listen, then get in line to buy a CD, sometimes with tears in their eyes!
Since then Vince has released 5 more CDs, each more popular than the last! And with this newest release, Vince is poised to gain an even wider audience!

Nils Lofgren: Old School (2011)

You could forgive Nils Lofgren, best known these days as a 27-year member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, for issuing a contemplative record after such a difficult period. And there's some of that here.  Yet, in the wake of losing both E Street saxophonist Clarence Clemons (who passed in June at age 69 from complications following a stroke) and organist/keyboard player Danny Federici (after a battle with cancer in 2008), Lofgren begins the forthcoming Old School embroiled in a vinegary rage.
He comes tearing out to open this project, released in early November by Vision Records -- making a bold statement of rock 'n' roll purpose on the title track: "Old School" is this crunchy, horn-driven kiss off to those who spend more time whining than they do working to accomplish something -- made complete by a boisterous guest vocal turn by Lou Gramm of Foreigner fame. Lofgren then white knuckles it through the riffy "60 is the New 18," a fleet little aside than owes no small debt to the Springsteen's rangy late-period rockers -- only updated with a crumpled new-wave guitar signature.
"Love Stumbles On" combines a rockabilly riff and a common-man storyline that might fit in well on one of his employer's albums, too. Later, Lofgren unleashes an angry yawl on the slide-driven "Amy Joan Blues," this bumpy ride through a Delta swamp with Free/Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers. The anthematic "Dream Big" thumps along with a toweringly processed beat, as Lofgren exhorts us all to "love like a work of art."
This frisky sense of variety should come as no surprise to anyone who's followed Lofgren's non-Springsteen doings. After all, he has also recorded and toured with Neil Young (a stint that included After The Gold Rush and Tonight's The Night, among others), Willie Nelson, David Crosby, Branford Marsalis (on the Buckshot LeFonque project), Lou Reed and Ringo Starr (during his original All-Starr Band tour, and then again in 1992). Along the way, the 60-year old Lofgren has also issued an astounding 36 previous solo projects, as well.
The album is Nils Lofgren's first studio effort in five years, and follows 2008's The Loner: Nils Sings Neil, a homage to Neil Young also issued on Vision Music. Work on this project actually began subsequent to Logfren's work with the E Street Band on Bruce Springsteen's Dream Tour in November 2009. Lofgren produced Old School, with the exception "Why Me," which was produced, recorded and mixed by Brian Christian (Alice Cooper/Kiss/The Babys).
Of course, the backwash of anger -- in particular when somebody has gone -- is typically a deeper sorrow, and Old School is no different. As Lofgren makes his quietly effective tribute to Ray Charles on "Miss You Ray," a song with the same kind of shambling emotional heft as Springsteen's "Blood Brothers," it's hard not to think of the recently departed Clemons. (And, as it turns out, over more recent Lofgren shows, the track has become something of a tribute to the late saxist.)
That Brother Ray namecheck, by the way, is not the last overt nod to the rhythm and blues influences that always run just beneath the surface of the music he makes with Springsteen -- or the last frank discussion on mortality. "Ain't Too Many of Us Left," for instance, finds Lofgren working side by side with the great soul shouter Sam Moore, of Sam and Dave fame. The contemplative "Irish Angel," a Bruce McCabe song that Lofgren's been performing during acoustic shows for years, underscores the difficulties in saying goodbye -- while "When You Were Mine" seeks comfort after a devastating storm finally disappears over the horizon. "Let Her Get Away" begins the process of healing, even if it's with a grizzled, world-weary perspective on what's been lost.
It's unclear where the E Street Band is right now in that regard. There are, as yet, no plans to reconvene. That's left Nils Lofgren alone with his thoughts. The result is a well-conceived journey -- not just through grief, and through anger, but also toward acceptance.

Arturo Sandoval: I Remember Clifford (1992)

I Remember Clifford is a 1992 album by Arturo Sandoval, the second album he made after fleeing from his native Cuba.
The entire album is a tribute to Clifford Brown, who was a great influence on Sandoval; Brown was an influential, highly-rated and much-loved jazz trumpeter who died in an auto accident in 1956, when he was only 25 years old.
The album is named for Clifford Brown who was killed on June 26, 1956 in a car accident which also killed pianist Richie Powell, the younger brother of Bud Powell.
Sandoval's written tribute to Brown in the liner notes for the album ends:
Everybody that I've spoken to, who knew Brownie, coincided in describing his heart and his simplicity as an artist. Modesty, feelings, dignity and virtuosity; not a bad legacy. ... It is with all my heart and soul that I offer this sincere effort to one of the greatest trumpet players of all time; a man who left his mark as a person and as an artist. It is named after a threnody written by Benny Golson, I Remember Clifford, also written in memory of Brown.
In addition to an especially poignant rendition of the Golson piece (using only a trumpet and piano - a pointed tribute to the two musicians who died together), the album contains a long list of Clifford's best-known standards (some composed by Brown himself). One final inclusion is a new composition, I Left This Space For You, written by Sandoval in tribute, in which Sandoval plays only a restrained melody, leaving "this space for him" (in Sandoval's words). One very unusual feature, heard on five of the tracks, is the use of overdubbing to create a trumpet 'choir' of four harmonized trumpets, all played by Sandoval (a concept credited to Orlando 'Papito' Hernández, who had experience with multiple trumpets from his time playing with Herb Alpert). The 'choir' is used to play arrangements of some of Brown's own brilliant original solos; the different trumpet lines are so closely synchronized it is hard to believe they were not reproduced electronically. Sandoval's own phenomenal playing features in his own solos, especially on "Cherokee", which he takes at a pace a hair faster than Brown's own impossibly-fast original.
The album received two nominations in the 1992 Grammy Awards ('Best Jazz Instrumental Performance - Individual or Group', and 'Best Arrangement on an Instrumental', for Cherokee). It was picked by critic Leonard Feather as one of the ten best jazz albums of 1992.

Mario Biondi & The Unexpected Glimpses: Due (2011)

Italian jazz-soul vocalist Mario Biondi was born of artistic stock in the Sicilian city of Catania. His great grandfather was a respected painter, his grandmother a singer, and his father a popular songwriter. Biondi sang throughout his childhood, first performing in public at age 12 in church, and soon singing in public squares before hundreds of people. From there he competed in the Festival della Canzone Siciliana, taking third place. Biondi's musical pursuits earned him the opportunity to perform alongside such Italian vocal greats as Califano, Bongusto, and Fiorello, as well as American legend Ray Charles. As word of his talent and skill got out, Biondi found himself collaborating with groups like the Change, Mario Brothers, and Funky Company on recordings and tours. Given his powerful and unique voice, it was not long before Biondi was encouraged to pursue a solo career. Featuring material inspired by American R&B artists like Lou Rawls, Luther Vandross, and Donny Hathaway, Biondi's debut record was released in 2006 on the boutique label Family Affair. Handful of Soul featured the single "This Is What You Are," which went immediately into heavy rotation throughout Italy and the U.K. A year later Biondi performed the song at the important Sanremo Festival in Italy, bolstering the record's popularity and helping to push it into Billboard's European Top 100 chart. ~ Evan C. Patti Austin: On The Wat To Love (2001)

After affiliations with CTI (1976-80), Qwest (1981-88), and GRP (1990-1994), Patti Austin, as she passed the age of 50, seemed to have moved permanently from the soul jazz divisions of major labels to independents like Concord Jazz (for whom she made In and Out of Love in 1998) and even more modest recording affiliations (her last album, Street of Dreams, was handled by Platinum Entertainment). It is therefore something of a surprise that she has landed back at Quincy Jones' Warner Bros.-distributed Qwest label for her 15th album, On the Way to Love. It's also good news, since a singer of Austin's talent (and there aren't many of those) deserves the exposure possible through major-label distribution. The question, of course, is what sort of commercial compromises it entails. The answer is that Qwest's vision for Austin, one she seems to endorse enthusiastically, is to take her right back to the kind of quiet storm/adult contemporary/smooth jazz approach that characterized most of her earlier Qwest releases in the 1980s. Paul Brown, Boney James' producer, has been brought in, and, not surprisingly, the saxophonist turns up on "If You Really Need Me Now," a track that also features Austin's old duet partner (and Qwest labelmate) James Ingram. Siedah Garrett, another Qwest stalwart, co-wrote the title song, and Austin herself contributed to the writing of three songs, among them "Love's Been Kind to Me Lately," an attractive pop song that, like many here, may be more welcome on contemporary jazz stations than anywhere else. The songs indulge in street argot here and there, but this is an upscale effort for the most part, music for middle-aged Terry McMillan fans who aren't Waiting to Exhale anymore, but still don't want to work up a sweat. It's not bad, but Austin can do much better. -- William Ruhlmann

Bob Baldwin: NewUrbanJazz.Com 2 / Re-Vibe (2011)

Those listeners brand new to the special urban groove of the wonderful Bob Baldwin need only flip on the first track of his latest CD, ‘Re-Vibe’, to find out what this terrific musician is all about. Titled ‘Thanks For Stopping By’, the song (in Bob’s own words and in little over 2 minutes) perfectly sums up the ethos of this consummate performer.
Of course Baldwin has long been at the cutting edge of contemporary jazz. His 2008 project ‘NewUrbanJazz.com’ served to redefine the genre and led to the legitimization of R & B tinged vocals within smooth jazz. Truth to tell Baldwin has been pioneering his unique vibe since he first hit the scene in 1988 with ‘The Dream Featuring Bob Baldwin’. Since then his often overlooked discography has been adorned with musical gems and now ‘Re-Vibe’ raises the bar yet another notch.
The variety of ‘Re-Vibe’ is delightful and is epitomized by the melodic yet rhythmic lilt of ‘Get Over It’ which features everyone’s favourite flute player Ragan Whiteside. Her own solo album ‘Class Axe’ remains a real Smooth Jazz Therapy favourite and when she returns to add some magic to ‘Get A Little (Jazz In Yo’ Ear)’ its her silky backing vocal that grabs the attention. In fact the tune is built around a streetwise rap from Bo Valentine and as the CD moves closer to the urban vibe that sums up Baldwin like no other, the silkily soulful ‘All Over You’ shimmers with a stunning vocal from Glen Jones.
‘Arabian Sweets’ also includes flute from Whiteside and, as the title suggests, is replete with (jazzy) eastern promise while elsewhere ‘For Grover and George’ provides Baldwin with the opportunity to tip a hat to Washington Jr and Howard respectively. The track also showcases top notch sax from the ubiquitous Darren Rahn yet despite the superb guest performances that generously populate the album its Baldwin’s own contributions that remains centre of everything. In this respect there is none more so than his ultra tight playing on the mid tempo title cut and later ‘Cosmic – Tology’ allows him to deliver another slice of hip virtuosity.
Later, ‘Burnin (In My Brain)’ finds Baldwin in a funk induced haze and although ‘Every Breath Is A Gift’ is a masterpiece of rhythm and melody it’s the warm, inviting singing voice of Porter Carroll II that adds a velvety quality to the retro tinged ‘Are You Ready’.
The brassy ‘Uptown Situation’ finds Freddy V in fine form on sax, the always excellent Barry Danielian on trumpet and some predictably great keys from Baldwin. When trumpet duties pass to the up and coming Joey Sommerville, he plays a significant part in making Baldwin’s version the Alicia Keys smash ‘Unthinkable’ sound brand new. It is right up there with the best that the collection has to offer yet even better and snatching the honours of Smooth Jazz Therapy top tune is ‘Morning’. Used to bring ‘Re-Vibe’ to a deliciously contemplative close, melodic smooth jazz doesn’t get better than this.
‘Re-Vibe’ from Bob Baldwin comes highly recommended. Check it out.
